Our philosophy

How we teach — and why it works

Brainology exists because we believe homework and school support can be more than extra worksheets. Done well, it changes how a child sees themselves as a learner. These are the principles that shape every session we run.

Step 01

Teaching first, support second

Our sessions are run by qualified, practising classroom teachers — not student helpers. That changes everything. Real teachers know how children learn, where they get stuck, and how to explain the same idea three different ways until it lands.

Step 02

Small groups, real attention

We keep groups deliberately small. Children get more time to think, more chances to speak, and more accurate feedback. The atmosphere is calm, focused and friendly — not pressured.

Step 03

A curriculum built around outcomes

Our schemes of work are reviewed every year against the national curriculum and current exam specifications. We plan a child's journey across terms and years, not session by session.

Step 04

Partnership with parents

You'll always know how your child is doing. Regular written progress reports, honest conversations, and clear next steps — so the work we do at Brainology connects with everything happening at home and school.
